I'm going to sew a cockpit cover for a friend who wants to use Endura Gold byDupont.  The smallest size I can get is V92 thread.  What is the smallest needle I can use (100/16 or 110/18)with this thread when sewing Sumbrella so it won't leak at the seams?

Hi,

I have had no success with the Endura Gold product at all. It is very hard to sew with at best. I strongly recommend the Gortex (Tenara) thread over the Endura. That said, The smallest needle I recommend with any of the Teflon type threads is a #14. In general I think you will find a #16 works the best.

I have to agree on the Tenera  thread. I just paid to have a full canvas job re stitched that was done with sunbrella thread Some years ago. It just won't last as long as the canvas material. The UV made the seams open with one finger. If you sew a job with Tenera it won't ever fail because the thread died from UV.
