Matt, last year a poster requested advise about how to best patch the holes left when Dutchman fairleads were removed. Against your advise, the poster decided to use PSA insignia cloth because it was easier than trying to sew on so many patches. What is your opinion of the viability of the insignia cloth patch? Obviously, since this was not what you recommended, I would appreciate your opinion, or the opinions of other industry experts who check in here. Thanks!

Sewing a patch would be best but you can use the sticky backed tape if you prefer the quick approach. But if using the adhesive Dacron, place it on both sail sides.

Thanks, Matt. I definitely want better, not necessarily quicker. Just wanted to be sure that it was worth the extra effort, and it sounds like you think it is.

Yes, it is. The problem with the stick on stuff is that without sewing it will eventually creep a bit and leave a band of adhesive residue that will turn black as it gets dirty. It can also get a little wrinkled over time.
