Hello, I was given a nice kevlar reinforced main from a F27 that has a lot of nice material left. I would like to make a sail for my sunfish with it (lateen rig). I am looking for plans and tips on accomplishing that project. I do not need the sail to be class legal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What you need is the Mainsail Manual. It will give you all the information you need to build the sail. Much of the content won't apply but there is a section on lateen sails:
