I have inherited a Singer 95-10. I am learning how to sew and to do minor repairs on this machine to save money. I am able to loosen the stitch length screw and move the lever up and down. However, the length of the stitch does not change. The stitch is very tight and close together. How can I fix this to get more space in-between stitches?

Don't know anything about this machine. Here is a link to a manual that is really not a parts manual, and that might help.
