I have a project coming up and since I don't have the sailrite LSZ-1 machine any longer, I took my wife's old brother to the repair shop for a go-through.
It came back with a report that it wouldn't sew with v-69 thread. There is a roll pin inside that allowed a bit of movement and it wouldn't keep a stitch, but household thread would work fine. I was offered a singer 201-2 from the 50s for 200 bucks. I found another one from a guy who goes to auctions for 60 bucks and after cleaning it up and rewiring some of the old wiring and greasing the motor, I just got it to sew through 9 layers of denim!!!!! On to the original project, which is new salon cushions for our westsail 32!!!! Happy bargain hunter, Rich |
