I'm considering redoing my bimini an camper canvas on a large cruiser.  Current sunbrella is fairly new, but has de-laminated in areas and has tears from a recent storm.

The bimini is large, roughly 12 ft side to side and about 12ft long.  Current construction is 2 - 60" wide sections sewed together with 12"-15"side panels sew in to get to the 12' mark.

Any reason I can use the current sunbrella as a pattern?  If not, how to pattern a large area like this?

If the current top fits well and the frame design is not changing then you may use it as a pattern. But you must be careful when you deconstruct it to not stretch the panel edges when removing stitches to separate things.
