A couple years before I started doing my own sewing, we had some old solid yard furniture re-cushioned. The contractor used the original steel frame to attach the sunbrella which is still in good shape, but the vinyl attachments have disintegrated with UV exposure.  I would like to salvage the sunbrella with a new attachment method to the metal frame.

What suggestions do you have?

Hi,

The connecting attachments almost look like Windlace. Here is a link to what we offer but it is black:

Thanks Matt,

Is it possible to sew to the Windlace? It appears to just be a slip on device to finish a raw edge, and not a way to attach the fabric to the frame.

No you can't sew this stuff on. Sorry but I don't know what the proper item is for an exact replacement. Anyone else?

Simplest way is probably remove the old stuff, cut it close to the sunbrella if you don't want to unpick it all. Make up a few tags in the same colour material or matching the metal, unpick here & there slip one end of each tag into the cushion seem & sew, drill & rivet snap bases on the inside of the frame & add pops to your tags.
