    Posted: 01 June 2018 at 3:59pm
I am having problems with my top thread shredding with a new LSZ-1. I was following the instructions to  deburr the cap spring and hook as they both had a burr on them. I only have fine grit sandpaper not emory cloth but was able to sand them both so I cant feel them with my finger although they are still slightly viable. I am using a v92 thread with a size 20 needle. Is there anything else that could be causing this besides timing? Could having the retaining ring off center cause this? What about a dull hook point? I accidentally dropped the hook piece a few times putting it in.

I am experiencing the same issue with the top thread shredding and/or bobbin thread bunching.  I'm resewing an old sail cover and a single run can take me through multiple layers of sunbrella as well as vinyl type material.  I've had the LSZ-1 for a week.

Hello Amy,

we have opened a Support Case via your Sailrite account.  I have already sent a response via the Support Case and asked for a photo showing your machines timing set-up.
