    Posted: 14 April 2010 at 3:20pm
Just recently acquired a Capri 22 - and a new LZ-1 !  My first project is to replace the zipper on the jib sock.  After looking at what was there and talking with a couple of folks at Sailrite, I ordered a continuous zipper to length and two sliders; one to zip from the top as the sock is raised and another to zip from below up to the genoa sheets.
Based on the way the original is built (and some intro video on zippers) I expect that I'll put a stop at each end so the slider doesn't fall off and simply coerce the teeth together to get the zipper started.
Is this common?
Did I mess up and get the wrong zipper? Remember that the zipper works from top to furled clew and bottom to furled clew.

Sorry, wrong zipper. You need separating zippers for this. One above the sheets and one below. Continuous zipper must always be closed at one end. Call me at 800-348-2769 if you want to discuss this.
Thanks, Matt Grant
