I am going to build some cockpit cushions for my Alberg 29 this winter.  Any fabric + foam recommendations.  I have had Catamaran 54" vinyl recommended as a good product.  The cushions will spend a great deal of time in the elements and given this is a smaller boat the cockpit becomes an essential part of the living space on-board - so comfort and cleaning is a factor.

Hi Pat,
I strongly recommend Universal Naugahyde as the vinyl cloth. Sailrite stocks this product in a large selection of colors. For the foam go with Dry Fast 2" foam. It is comfortable and will not easily mold or mildew. You may also want to consider using a mesh material like Phifertex at the back of the cushion (the zipper Plaque area) to keep the cushions from feeling a bit like an airbag when you first sit down.
Thanks, Matt
