I store my gas tank in a convenient out-of-the-way place in the cockpit. But it gets some sun and my last gas tank eventually peeled away, assuming due to sun UV damage.

I have a new 3-gal West Marine tank. I would like to store it in the same place. But maybe make a loose cover for it? Or make a bag for it along with the fuel hose?  Or is this a bad idea…?

Anyone done this or something similar to store/protect their gas tank?

 Thanks - jballou
