I am looking for material
suggestions on my next project. I want to make a cover for the cushion that
snaps on the bow of our cruiser. Currently we snap it on and off for the nice
days. It takes up a lot of room in the cockpit on days that are not nice. I
want to cover it top and bottom. The idea is to have the top completely zip
off. The cushion is a size that will fit into this cover without alteration.
Issues with this is it setting on the bow and rain running under it, the top
material setting on top of the cushion material, being able to clean it and
being breathable (or is that not necessary). I figured I would double up
an extra piece of the fabric to cover the zipper. Your help is
appreciated. |

I understand what you are trying to do. I think I would use Top Notch 9 to create the "removable" cover. It will breathe enough and yet is very protective.

Top Notch 9 is really very convenient, I use it as well and would recommend you with no doubt.

Top Notch 9 is all I use for covers. In the last year I made a barbecue cover, scooter carrier cover and outdoor chair covers that stay out all the time. Breathes well and sheds water.
