I want to make cushions for the wood bench seats on my tender skiff. I'm thinking of using Phifertex Plus for durability and ease of cleaning (we have dogs). What's the best foam to use? Should I go with reticulated foam on the idea that rain and dew would just drain through, or should I use closed cell foam to keep water out (presumably it would puddle on top?), or both (i.e., Dryfast over a layer of closed cell)?
Also, what's the best way to keep the cushions attached to the benches? Fabric tabs with snaps, or is there a better way? |

I like the Dry Fast for comfort but the Closed Cell might work better for dogs. It is true that water will puddle with the closed cell foam but it also dries off quickly after dumping the water. I don't see a reason to use a mixture of foam types. Attach the cushions with snap tabs. Velcro works but I find it more difficult and less secure.
Thanks, Matt
