Hi,
Somehow needle bent or machine bent needle in binding I was sewing (in reverse) and jammed machine, wheel would not rotate. Ended up having to cut needle in half with snips and then work lower part of needle and fabric out. Now wheel will not rotate at all to lower or raise needle. Motor seems to be okay. How do we diagnose what is wrong? Not very mechanical... Are parts even available for this age machine or is it easier to replace machine? No one local that will work on this type of machine for us. Older model purchased 8-2001. Thank you for any assistance. Helene |

Hi Helene,
The hook is likely jammed in the lower race of the machine. You will need to release the two retaining clips (black plastic) by the bobbin. Do so by pivoting each out away from the center. Then the retaining ring and the hook should come out of the machine. Now check if the machine rotates. Please follow your guidebook instructions titled "Removing the Hook to Clean the Shuttle Race Guide and Free Thread Jams" to reassemble. We do have the guidebook available here: https://www.sailrite.com/PDF/2016-Ultrafeed-Guidebook-lores.pdf Please contact us to create a support case if you need more help. Hi Matt, Updating to let you know this did work and the wheel is rotating. Our house flooded just after posting the original question, lots of repairs and have just now gotten to the machine. Thanks for your help! Helene
