I am making a removable vinyl screen for the transom platform and envision using bungee cord to fasten the lower corners to existing protrusions on the hull (can't use snaps of any kind) at each end. This will tension it when it is in place. The screen will have webbing around the perimeter or a hem if need be. The cord will be at the lower corners. Can someone provide some ideas on how to sew the end of the bungee to fasten it in place on the webbing or in the hem without weakening the connection? |

Hi Johnboat:
Probably the easiest way to do this is to take short lengths of shock cord (bungee) and simply hand stitch them into the corners with stout stock such as our 15090 caorse waxed polyester.
Another approach is to sew shock cord into the hem in lieu of webbing, leaving a bight exposed at the necessary corners.
I hope that this helps.
Best regards,

Thanks. Using the first method, I assume that I can stitch right throught the end of the shock cord to terminate it- I guess for 1-2 inches.
