For 1.5 oz spinnaker sail repair, you can easily find 3/4 oz ripstop tape with matching color that you can use and sew into your project.

Seems like its a bit harder to find different color dacron repair tape to match my sail.

Its easier to match color by using 4 oz dacron cloth since they are available almost everywhere.

Has anybody tried using 3m general trim advesive spray on 4 or 5 oz dacron material?  Will it melt dacron?

I know I can use basting tape to tack the repair cloth and then run a few stitches on the sail.  Sometimes I want to make sure that the dacron patch is really flushed into the sail before I run the machine for final stitching.

Thanks
Rey

Use 3M Super 77 spray adhesive to stick patched down prior to sewing. It works great in areas where basting tape doesn't give you the coverage desired.
