I have an acrylic hat that I had put into the washing machine the other day, and after the wash the hat seemed to have gone very loose and soft. Is there a way of getting the hats previous form back and having it more hard and durable.

Thanks.

Here's an idea, maybe not a good idea, but may be worth trying:
Add some liquid starch to the rinse cycle, then hang dry.
