I have enlarged the 4 bow SS 1 inch frame to use an 8 foot top, and to make it so I can stand underneath.
What is the standard distance from center bow to center bow and center bows to outer bows? My frame is able to do 28 inch outer bow to inner bow, 38 inches between both inner bows and 28 inch inner bow to outer bow on my frame. Does that sound ok?

Your measurements sound fine. The general rule is 40" or less from bow to bow.
